Did you know Wish-Bone Italian Dressing was invented in KC?

In 1948, after returning from World War II, Phillip Sollomi opened a fried chicken restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri, called The Wish-Bone.

Located in a charming Victorian mansion near 44th and Main Street, the restaurant quickly became known for more than just its chicken. The real star was a zesty Italian salad dressing, based on a family recipe from Phillip’s Sicilian mother, Lena Sollomi.
