The land where Kansas City's elegant Raphael Hotel stands today has witnessed remarkable transformations. In the 1800s, Daniel Boone's son trapped furs and farmed along Brush Creek. The property later served as a Swiss dairy farm, then the Lyle Brickyard, and eventually became home to Sunset Hills Garden, a nursery and floral shop.
