The Pla-Mor Ballroom, a beacon of entertainment in Kansas City during the Jazz Age, opened its doors on November 24, 1927, at 3142 Main Street.

Designed by architect Charles A. Smith, the facility was inspired by renowned ballrooms in New York, Detroit, and Chicago, establishing itself as one of the largest indoor entertainment complexes in America.
