The Kansas City Star Building, located at 1729 Grand Boulevard, has been a significant part of Kansas City's architectural and journalistic history since its completion in 1911.

Designed by Chicago architect Jarvis Hunt, the building is a notable example of the Italian Villa style, which is uncommon in Kansas City for commercial structures. The building was designed to house both the administrative offices and the printing plant for the Kansas City Star newspaper.
