Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, an Episcopal cathedral located in the Quality Hill neighborhood of downtown Kansas City, Missouri, serves as the seat of the Episcopal Diocese of West Missouri.

The cathedral's rich history and striking architectural features make it a significant landmark in Kansas City. Originally established in 1870, the congregation and cathedral evolved over the years, merging historical significance with modernity.

Early History and Establishment

Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral was founded on July 20, 1870, originally named "Saint Paul's Church." On April 14, 1873, it was renamed "Grace Church" after a successful campaign led by Senior Warden John R. Balis. The church initially built a wooden structure on the southeast corner of Tenth and Central Streets in 1874.
