Alexander Majors was one of the most influential businessmen of the American West—and his home in present-day Kansas City stands as a rare reminder of his outsized role in frontier life. Built in 1856, the Alexander Majors House served as both a family residence and business headquarters during the height of westward expansion. Today, it’s one of the oldest surviving homes in the city and part of the Wornall/Majors House Museums.
